When I am stitching, I find myself having to google every different stitch just to remind myself what they are. Does anyone else do this?! Well, I decided to just put some of my most used stitches all in one place! If I missed any stitches that you would like to see added to our stitching glossary, comment below!

Blanket Stitch

This is my go-to stitch to finish all my applique. When I’m working on smaller things or wool projects, I will stick to hand work- otherwise, I am VERY grateful for a sewing machine that has a GREAT blanket stitch! #gobabylock

Running Stitch

This probably seems like a no-brainer, but I always confuse the running stitch with a back stitch! (Ha ha nobodies perfect!)

French Knots

This stitch is probably my very favorite! (Even though it took me the longest to master) The trick is to keep your floss tight!

Rose Stitch

This stitch is new to me, but SEW much fun! After making a five-point star with your floss, wind the three strands of thread over and under the points of the star. This will give you a fun petalled rose look!

Lazy Daisy Stitch

Going forward with the flower stitches, our next stitch is the lazy daisy stitch! This is a darling a easy way to get those fun little flowers in any project!

Stem Stitch

You’re going to need a stem stitch to finish off the cute flowers we’ve been going over!

Satin Stitch

This stitch is for all you ambitious stitchers! Although it isn’t difficult, it definitely takes a little extra time!

Good luck on all your future stitching projects! I hope this will give you pros a little reminder when you are zipping through those fun summer stitchery projects!

XOXO, Kris
