Hey Girlfriends! Kris here! This post is part of a series of our weekly “Fri-yay Weekly Demo” series! Our lucky local customers love our weekly in-store demos. Every week we have a new demo at our demo table! I am going to be sharing these demos on our blog, along with releasing the products for those demos every Friday! Now you don’t have to be local to enjoy our in-store demos! This week we are learning to Make a Thread Wallet! Read about last week’s demo about NEW Baby Lock Solaris!
Make a Thread Wallet
This week we are learning a fun, super fast little Thread Wallet project that will help you carry all those cards discretely when you don’t want to lug around your purse! This makes a great, quick gift! Just add a gift card of your choice! Have a fun, super cheap gift in just 3 steps!
You will need: 6″ of wide elastic of the color of your choosing, 6″ of ribbon- the ribbon I used is 2″ wide. I used a rather thick ribbon that can be used as a second pocket. You can even use a narrower strip of elastic instead of a ribbon to make a more stable second pocket. You also need a scrap of small ribbon for the loop and a metal piece of hardware if you wish to make it attachable to your keys.
Step 1: Layer the piece of elastic and your 6″ of ribbon together, lining up the bottoms.
Step 2: Thread your scrap piece of ribbon through your metal loop. Fold over, right sides together, so that all the ends of the ribbon and elastic (including your scrap ribbon) meet.
Step 3: Sew a 1/2″ seam along the edges, making sure to back stitch on each end. Turn right side out.
Just add a gift card, or your credit cards and enjoy! There are days when I don’t want to carry around my purse, so I just hook this little baby onto my key ring and I am good to go! It works like a charm!
Good luck Girlfriends! XOXO, Kris
