Perfect Binding and Mitered Corners….is it even possible? If you caught [email protected] with Kris on Thursday, July 9, 2021 you now know it certainly is. Kris spilled all of her tips and tricks on creating the perfect edge to any of your quilting and sewing projects. I mean, let’s be honest, how many of our UFO’s (Unfinished Objects) simply require binding in order to be completed?
So, I am going to be vulnerable here and raise my hand. I am among the many that try and try again to create those picture perfect corners. Usually I just end up creating the party corner in the front and the mess in the back. I then fold my quilt with the corners in the middle and call it success? Sound familiar? Look familiar? Remember, this is a blog… you can simply nod and no one will know!
Whoops! Who’s quilt is that?
I think this is the end result that I was going for!
So, I acted like I was typing…..and I watched [email protected] And just like magic…Kris shared her secrets and my quilt corners can now become a thing of beauty. Well, one rule I learned when I joined My Girlfriend’s Quilt Shoppe is “Girlfriends NEVER share secrets”….HAHAHA! That was my last job! I meant…”Girlfriends ALWAYS share secrets!” So if you missed the tutorial, here are the instructions!
And if you are a visual learner, like me, and need Kris to sit in your sewing room with you, just wave your magic wand (or click here) and Ta Da! The amazing world of modern technology brings her right to you!
So now you know the secret too. You are officially part of the Perfect Mitered Corners Club. Binding quilts will be your new favorite hobby. Well, Hugs and Kisses and Tiny Stitches! I am off to bind. Anyone have any great Netflix suggestions?
