Happy Haunting “Ghoul”-friends!
I adore Halloween. It is my favorite holiday. The month of October brings so much excitement. Who doesn’t love the fantastic Fall weather. It is warm during the day and then has crisp cool nights. You can wear your entire wardrobe, in layers, on any given day. Let’s talk Pumpkins? I love the Halloween decorations. Orange and Black, Green and Purple, Witches and Ghosts….these things speak to me. You can dress up and be a completely different persona for a whole day. There is no expectation for certain behavior. Most actions are forgiven on Halloween (just be legal!) You can choose to be involved in the Halloween Holiday or you can choose to avoid it. There is no judgement either way. You do not have any pressure to find and give the perfect gift….you simply need candy! And speaking of candy, you can eat as much candy corn as you want! How can it get any better than that!
Well, I think the Girlfriends and Kimberbell love this holiday as much as I do. What was my first clue? The Candy Corn Quilt Shoppe. Have you seen this masterpiece. Kimberbell has managed to embody every aspect of Halloween that there is to love in 40″ x 40″ of glory! Not only can you step in and “stitch a spell,” while you create it….but then you can spend hours “sitting a spell,” and admiring your handiwork. This bewitching quilt contains all of my favorite Halloween things surrounded by patchwork and pinwheels. Join me as we take a closer look at this sewing and machine embroidery art.
The fabric itself contains a wide variety of dimensional details. If you are lucky enough to be shopping the “fabric bolts and bat quarter sale,” you will find actual tiny bolts of fabric. The attention to detail is astounding.
If you are familiar with Kimberbell then you are familiar with Bench Buddies. I am sure the “Welcome My Pretties Bench Buddy is on your “To Do:” list. Well the old fashioned bench in the Candy Corn Quilt Shoppe Quilt contains it’s own miniature bench buddy. And what Halloween bench is complete without a black cat. I don’t know about you, but at our house Cat Hair is a Condiment.
I love the three little witches showing their own quilting projects. Do these projects look familiar? They are none other than some of the “Ghoul”-friends favorites: Be sure to pick up the full size versions here:
I cannot wait to get my kit and sign up for class. Did I mention that if I buy the kit, I get the class free? I can smell the Candy Corn now. Let the haunting begin.
