Meet the Instructors!

 Barb Tatera

An award winning quilter, Barb loves all kinds of quilting but particularly enjoys quilting in a modern and contemporary style. Rulers and a water soluble marker are her favorite go-to tools. She is passionate about helping new quilters develop the confidence to create quilts they can be proud of.

Barb also has a teaching background, with a degree in Elementary Education and a Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction. When she is not quilting, Barb enjoys yoga and hiking. She lives in Scottsdale, AZ with her husband, and they have two adult daughters.

 Jeannine Grabowska

Jeannine is an award winning quilter, earning awards for her professional quilting for 3 years in a row. She has learned a great deal and looks forward to continuation of learning and growing in the quilting industry.

Because she loves working with people, and encouraging and guiding them through the quilting process, she is excited to be part of the Handi Quilter team of educators! Jeannine says, "Handi Quilter gives us so many tools to help us express our creativity...the only questions is" Where do you start?"

 Mary Yoder

Over 40 years ago, Mary made her first quilt from leftover scraps from garment sewing, backed it with a purchased blanket, and called it a quilt. She continued making quilts but did not like finishing them on her domestic sewing machine. When she saw the HQ Sixteen, Mary knew it was for her. Once the Pro-Stitcher came out she added it to her machine and now loves finishing her quilts using Pro-Stitcher along with other free motion techniques. Mary has now upgrade to a HQ Forte and is loving the extra space it gives her.

Mary has taught different aspects of sewing for over 20 years. She has enjoyed focusing her teaching skills toward the art of quilting to have joined Handi Quilter as an Educator.
