Threading your sewing machine can be a simple process once you learn how your particular sewing machine needs to be threaded!
Keep in mind that every sewing machine threads differently, but all sewing machines have a direct pathway to follow (usually marked) for the threading process. This makes it easy to learn the threading process of your particular sewing machine.
Here is your Girlfriend’s Guide to threading your sewing machine, going through each of the 6 positions on the sewing machine.
Position 1: Place your spool onto the spool pin. Bring your thread up and around the #1 slot. You should feel a tension click to ensure you have the correct machine tension through your threading process.
Position 2: Head down the pathway to the #2 position.
Position 3: Move into the #3 position by going down the right side and up around the left side.
Position 4: You should now be in the #4 position, going again to the right and then to the left. Listen for a clicking sound to ensure the thread has gone through the tension disk.
Position 5: Go down the left side into #5. Bring your thread from the right to the left to go behind the metal bar.
Position 6: Go from the left, up, and around to the right behind the second metal bar.If you have correctly placed your thread through all 6 positions, your thread should be ready to go through the needle hole. This final step is done by taking the end of your thread and inserting it through the eye of the needle. If your machine has a needle threader, use that to finish threading your needle!
