What You Can Expect

Learn from our talented MGQS team as they share fresh tools, clever tips, and creative techniques to spark your next sewing or embroidery project. Each retreat includes the same set of demos—so no matter which date you choose, you won’t miss a thing!

• Hours of Open-Sew Time

Settle in and stitch at your own pace with generous open-sew hours every single day. Bring your UFOs, start something brand new, or let the demos (and your fellow Girlfriends!) ignite fresh inspiration. This is YOUR creative time, girlfriend!

• Exclusive Attendee Gift

Each GALAS guest will receive a special gift designed just for our Under the Stars theme—something lovely to commemorate your retreat experience and keep the magic going long after you head home.

• Machines Provided

Bring your own machine if you prefer, or use one of ours! We’ll have machines similar to a Baby Lock Vesta or Brother NQ3550W available for all attendees (largest hoop size: 6" x 10"). Simply sit down, plug in, and start stitching.

• Spacious + Comfortable Workstations

Every guest enjoys their own 6-foot table for plenty of spreading-out room, with shared cutting and pressing stations nearby so you’re always fully supported.

How to Register

Registration opens November 28, 2025.

On that day, you’ll be able to choose from all five retreat dates and secure your spot directly on our GALAS 2026 event page. With only 50 seats per retreat, early registration is highly encouraged.

Event Highlights

Flexible Schedule:
Day 1: Registration begins at 3:00 PM, with sewing available until 11:00 PM.

Days 2 & 3: Open sew from 7:00 AM–11:00 PM.

Final Day: Sewing from 7:00 AM–2:00 PM.


Your Own Workspace: A full 6-foot table is reserved just for you.

Shopping Convenience: Our store will be open throughout the retreat, with early shopping opportunities exclusively for GALAS guests.

Cancellation Policy
  • A $50 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your spot.
  • No refunds are available within 3 weeks of the event.
  • A 50% refund is available 3–6 weeks before the event.
  • Your registration is transferable to another guest; please contact Customer Care at 435-213-3229 if a transfer is needed.
Lodging
  • A block of rooms will be reserved exclusively for GALAS attendees.
  • After registering for the retreat, you’ll receive a link to book at our special rate.
  • A one-night charge will apply if hotel reservations are canceled within 48 hours of the event.

FAQ's

Will meals be provided?

Yes — we will be providing a casual patio-style hors d’oeuvres gathering on the first night. You’ll enjoy a delicious variety of 2 cold, 2 hot, and 2 sweet appetizers during our opening night social on the outdoor patio. This relaxed format gives everyone a chance to visit, settle in, and enjoy plenty of food (it absolutely counts as dinner!).

For the rest of the retreat, meals will not be provided, so attendees are welcome to explore the many wonderful food options in the surrounding area.

Will any projects be provided?

No official projects are included with your registration. You’ll bring your own sewing or embroidery projects to work on during the retreat.

However, we will have a variety of kits and project options available for purchase at the event — including many of the items demonstrated throughout the retreat. So if something you see during a demo inspires you, you can grab the kit and start stitching right away.

Is there a charge for the mini classes?

No. All demonstrations are included with your registration.

Will machines be provided? Can I bring my own machine?

Yes, machines will be available for you to use, similar to a Baby Lock Vesta or Brother NQ3550W. You’re also welcome to bring your own machine if you prefer.

What supplies do I need to bring?

Bring the projects you want to work on and any supplies needed for them. Since no projects or kits are provided, you get full freedom to choose what you’d like to sew.

Can I sign up for more than one person?

Yes, feel free to bring your friends!

Will there be a Facebook page?

Yes, the Facebook page will open to each event date!

Can I register now for any of the dates?

Registration opens Black Friday — November 28, 2025. All five retreat dates will be available at that time.

Will there be any special deals for shopping?

Yes — GALAS attendees will enjoy special early shopping hoursand an exclusive GALA shopping discount at the MGQS store during the retreat. It’s the perfect time to treat yourself to new notions, fabrics, kits, and all the goodies you’ll see demonstrated at GALAS.
