Paying it forward

I think this is a wonderful idea to showcase one’s life for future generations! I really believe that quilting is here to stay, and we really need to make sure we pass it along to the younger generation.

story review

Love this idea. The hardest part for me is choosing my memory. I have so many good ones growing up. I need to get started on my quilt part, however.

I never thought that I had any creative ideas of my own, but now I think I may have an idea or 2!

A though evoking journey with creativity

When introduced to this year long adventure, my first thoughts were - a year is a long time to be inspired for one block a month. Over the first few weeks after introduction - I could not let the thought of "my legacy" go undone! I then went to My Girlfriends Quilt Shoppe website, downloaded the Journal and started my legacy journey. My first block is complete. As I was gathering information for my journal entry - I talked with my parents on a time line as they started the journey for us, and our next generation. We are blessed to have them still with us for historical dates and events! The block I created is of our farm house - we are second generation to have owned this farm-with thoughts of the third generation taking over when they are ready. (Barn is not pictured-that maybe a future block). I most enjoy the postings on the Facebook Page on the other "Legacy's" being created and the stories they share are heartwarming. A great connection to our past, to our future, and to each other.
